Springfield Federation of Music Clubs, formerly Morning Etude, of Springfield, IL is a senior club of the Illinois Federation of Music Clubs that was founded in 1922. We are also a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs.
The objectives of Springfield Federation of Music Clubs (SFMC) are (1) serious study of classical and modern music, (2) promotion of music interests in the community, (3) and cooperation with the Illinois Federation of Music Clubs in their specific plans for the advancement of music.
The Senior Club holds meetings three times a year. Agenda items include music repertoire, music pedagogy, music workshops, sponsorship of the District Junior Festival, and scholarships for summer music camps and other music study.
Membership is open to teachers, professionals, and to those that have an interest and who support the objectives of the club.
